Tattoo App Ux Design Review
Tattoo Inspiration App
UX Design for tattoo app InkTank
InkTank App
From creating a tattoo design, deciding on an artist, to being informed about the risks of ink and needles, the process of getting tatted can be complicated. InkTank is an app for tattoo enthusiasts to easily search for tattoo inspiration and quality artists, and learn about the tattoo process in one place.

Competitive Analysis
I researched other apps and sites that were tattoo databases to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. This would allow me to take the best of each, focus on opportunities, and apply them to InkTank.
Interviews
I interviewed friends and coworkers who had tattoos or were interested in getting one to find out what tools they used to decide on a tattoo design or artist and what pain points they experienced.
Personas
From analyzing data from interviews and surveys, I created personas to represent the target audience of InkTank and guide me in my design.
User Flows
I created user flows to focus on how users would complete tasks in InkTank and determine what pages I needed to design.
Low Fidelity Wireframes
I first got creative and sketched out wireframes to figure out my interaction ideas.
Mid-Fidelity Wireframes
I then created mid-fidelity wireframes in Balsamiq to more clearly explore InkTank's UI.
High-Fidelity Wireframes
Next I designed semi-high-fidelity wireframes in Photoshop, so users can search for a rose tattoo, search for a local, high quality artist, and search for guides on tattoo aftercare.
User Testing
After creating the first version of the prototype in Invision, it was time to test its usability following the user flows and discover any usability pain points.

Material Design
Once I updated the prototype to correct problems found in testing, I researched material design guidelines to determine a color palette and revamp the layout to something familiar and beautiful for users.
UI Kit - Style Guide
With solid typography, color, and imagery, I put together a style guide to ensure consistency throughout the design.
Peer Review
In the final stages, I asked a few peers to test my prototype and provide feedback to make sure that InkTank's experience was fluid and pleasant.
